There is no upper age limit to apply. But for AIIMS New Delhi Faculty applying under the sponsored category the age should be below 50 years.

Essential Qualification

Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  • 1. MD/MS Degree in the respective discipline with 3 years of post-PG experience as a Senior Resident.
  • 2. DM/M.Ch. Degree in the respective discipline.

The required qualification must be completed by 31/01/2026. Specific qualifications for each post are in the prospectus. Some examples are:

  • Pain Medicine: MD in Anaesthesiology/PMR/Palliative Medicine + 3 yrs exp. OR DM in Neuro/Onco Anaesthesiology.
  • Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesia: MD in Anaesthesiology + 3 yrs exp. OR DM in Cardiac Anaesthesia.
  • Aortic Surgery: M.Ch. in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.
  • Hepatology: DM/DNB in Gastroenterology or Pediatric Gastroenterology.
  • Stroke: DM in Neurology.
  • Spine Surgery: MS in Orthopedics + 3 yrs exp. OR M.Ch. in Neurosurgery.
  • Cleft and Craniofacial Orthodontics: MDS in Orthodontics + 3 yrs exp.
  • Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery: MS in General Surgery + 3 yrs exp.
  • Uro-Oncology: M.Ch. in Urology.

Selection Process

The selection process has two stages:

  1. Stage 1: Written Test (CBT)
    • This is a computer test with 60 questions (MCQs).
    • The test duration is 60 minutes.
    • Total marks are 60.
  2. Stage 2: Departmental Assessment
    • This is a practical or lab-based assessment.
    • Total marks are 40.
    • Only candidates who get 50% or more in Stage 1 will be called for Stage 2.

Final Selection:

  • Candidates must get over 50% total marks (Stage 1 and Stage 2 combined) to be eligible for admission.
  • The final result is based on the total marks from both stages.

Marking Scheme:

Correct Answer +1 mark
Incorrect Answer -1/3 mark
Not Answered 0 marks
