The total number of posts is 29. These posts are divided between the Nagpur Bench and the Aurangabad Bench. Candidates must select only one establishment while applying. Once selected, you cannot change the location. The job involves Shorthand and Typing work in English. Candidates must have good knowledge of Computer Operations.
Age Limit Rules: The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 38 years for General category candidates. For Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class, or Special Backward Class, the maximum age is 43 years. There is no maximum age limit for current High Court or Government Employees applying through the proper channel. The age is calculated as mentioned in the official rules.

Essential Qualification
- Stenographer (Higher Grade):
- Candidate must possess a University Degree. (Preference given to Law Degree holders).
- OR, candidates with 5 years of experience as a Lower Grade Stenographer in Courts or Government offices can apply without a degree if rules allow.
- Must have passed English Shorthand Examination with a speed of 100 w.p.m. or above.
- Must have passed English Typing Examination with a speed of 40 w.p.m. or above.
- Must possess a Computer Certificate (like GCC-TBC, DOEACC, MS-CIT, CCC, etc.) showing proficiency in Windows, Linux, Word, etc.
- Candidate should be able to speak, read, and write Marathi language.
Selection Process
- Shorthand Test: This test is of 40 marks. It includes dictation of a passage in English (500 words) in 5 minutes and transcription in 30 minutes. Minimum passing marks are 24.
- Typing Test: This test is of 40 marks. It includes typing an English passage (400 words) in 10 minutes. Minimum passing marks are 20. Only candidates who pass the Shorthand Test can give this test.
- Viva-voce (Interview): This is of 20 marks. Only eligible candidates who qualify for the tests will be called for this.
- Document Verification: Checking of all original certificates and proofs.
