Essential Qualification

For all posts, a candidate must have passed Matriculation or 10th Grade and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the relevant trade.

  • Crane Operator: NAC/NTC in Electrician trade.
  • Diesel Mechanic: NAC/NTC in Diesel Mechanic or related trades.
  • Driver Material Handling: NAC/NTC in Diesel Mechanic with a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
  • Electronic Mechanic: NAC/NTC in Electronic Mechanic trade.
  • Electrician: NAC/NTC in Electrician trade.
  • Fitter: NAC/NTC in Fitter, Weapon Fitter, or MMTM.
  • Machinist: NAC/NTC in Machinist, Turner, or Machinist (Grinder).
  • Machine Operator: NAC/NTC in Millwright Mechanic or MMTM.
  • Pipe Fitter: NAC/NTC in Pipe Fitter or Plumbing trades.
  • Rigger: NAC/NTC in Rigger or Carpenter trades.
  • Structural Fitter: NAC/NTC in Structural Fitter or related trades.

Selection Process

  1. Written Test: A 100-mark objective test of 2 hours duration will be held. It will cover trade-specific subjects (80 marks) and general knowledge/aptitude (20 marks).
  2. Practical (Trade) Test: Candidates who pass the written test will be called for a qualifying trade test.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Required for Driver, Rigger, and Crane Operator posts. This test is qualifying in nature.
